Nail polish is stinky stuff.
Quickly use your toothpick to swirl the polish around.
I recently saw nail polish marbling recently on pinterest and thought it was a really interesting concept.
If you are marbling an especially deep object add enough water that the piece can be submerged completely.
Most of the time only a few inches of water is needed.
What you need to marble a cup so aside from the nail polish you need a plain white mug which you can get at any dollar store.
The nail polish seemed like it maybe something more lasting if taken care of.
Diy marble coffee mugs using nail polish is my favorite way to make marble coffee mugs.
So i headed to the thrift store and found these white mugs for 99cents.
I just recently had.
I will link the things you need below.
I am hoping my family doesn t choose.
Pour your nail polish into the water.
Use a throw away container or line a pie pan in tin foil.
Fill the container halfway with hot water hotter is better.
Once the nail polish touches the water it will start to set and the heat will slow the process.
Even if my family just uses them decoratively to store pens and pencils these are a pretty great gift to give.
You also need something rather large to dip the cup so a larger glass bowl if you have one will work fine.
With the nail polish bottle very close to the surface pour a drop or two of polish into the water.
The nail polish dries very fast on the water so the hotter the better.
If the nail polish dries too much you may get a lumpy look and less marbley.
Carefully use a toothpick to swirl the nail polish that is floating on top of the water.
Dip your mug quickly into the nail polish on the water and pull out the mug.
Add water and drops of nail polish.
I hope you enjoy the video.
Hold the nail polish bottle close to the water.
I picked mine up at my local dollar general and it was only a dollar.
These diy nail polish mugs are sure to perk up your morning.
Again this whole process from when you pour the nail polish to when you dip the mug should take about 10 seconds or less.
